Building useful utilities
for UP Los Baños
We are an independent, open-source initiative creating custom, privacy-first software to streamline student workflows at UPLB. We also provide a collaborative training sandbox for student developers, designers, and creatives.
A modern, open training ground for developers and designers
uplb.tools is a collaborative project registry. We aim to address common student struggles—like mapping out room schedules or managing academic pathways—by building robust, local-first web applications.
Beyond software delivery, our primary goal is mentoring. Students of all skill levels work together, learning industry-standard technologies, version control, and interface design guidelines in a real-world sandbox.
Practical Utilities
We target actual UPLB campus needs. If a tool makes room search or grade simulation faster for the student body, we code and deploy it.
Mentoring Sandboxes
We welcome student designers, copywriters, and developers. Every contributor learns through pull-request reviews, feedback loops, and deployment flows.
No Data Monetization
We do not run trackers, inject ads, or collect student information. All computations run in the user's browser or as local extensions.
Active utilities built for the student body
Each project addresses a specific hurdle in campus life. Every repository is audited for data leaks and operates completely client-side.
An active lab for student creators
uplb.tools serves as a collaborative sandbox. We welcome all UPLB students interested in design, engineering, or documentation.
Software Engineering
Contribute to codebases built with Astro, React, and Vite. Learn clean repository architecture, Git flows, and review cycles.
UI / UX Design
Wireframe layouts, model workflows, and construct design tokens. Make tools responsive, accessible, and clean.
Documentation & Copy
Write setup guidelines, draft release logs, compile instructions, and explain how to install our browser extensions.
